About Our Family

"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass, it 's about Learning to Dance in the Rain".
" You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing." Psalm 30:11
I went out dancing with some girlfriends one night 15 years ago, and met my future husband, Kevin. We have learned to dance and laugh through good times and bad over the past 12 years of marriage. Over the course of our marriage, We have faced many of life's greatest challenges. Even in the heartbreak, we have watched God guide our steps and allow us to grow.
Our precious son Mason was born 6 year ago with a difficult diagnosis. We have watched his little body endure 14 surgeries, countless hours of therapy, difficult hospital stays. Yet through each challenge he has a smile on his face and joy in his heart. (For real!!! this is not a mom comment. He puts me to shame) You can get the details of Mason's story from our old blog: kevinwendywhite.blogspot.com
Adorable Allie girl came to us through the gift of adoption. We are blessed beyond measure that God placed her in our family. She is spicy, spunky and loves well. I could not ask for a better sister for Mason. Our adoption journey was difficult but She was worth the wait.
Micah's story is still unfolding. We are in the process of adopting him from Africa. God brought him into our lives at a baby shower through a friend. We had never given international adoption a thought because of Mason's medical needs. There was something about his smile that pierced our hearts. As we began to pray, we watched God move mountains. Our journey is not over yet and we are excited to see what the next several months have in store for our family.
As you read through this blog, let me worn you that I am NOT A WRITER!!! If grammatical errors drive you crazy..... Brace yourself!! I am a women that loves the Lord with all her heart. I've learned that authenticity and vulnerability is the only way to surrender my fears. My heart has broken numerous times over the past six years. I have had to die to dreams yet Through that I have watched God lovingly pick me up and take me on a beautiful dance. There is no place I would rather be than dancing in the arms of God.
